Not just Challenger 2 and Leopard 2: Ukraine Can Get French Leclerc Tanks

The other day we wrote that some European countries will transfer Challenger 2 and Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. As it turned out, the Ukrainian Armed Forces may receive another NATO standard tank.

Here's What We Know

According to Politico, France may transfer Leclerc tanks to Ukraine. This was reported anonymously by a French official. According to him, negotiations on tank deliveries are still ongoing and there is no final decision yet.

Flashback

The Leclerc is a French modern main battle tank. GIAT created it in the 1980s to replace the obsolete AMX-30 tank. Series production of the Leclerc began in 1992. By 2007, 794 tanks were produced. The production of the tanks is no longer carried out. As of 2010, 406 Leclerc MBTs are in service with France and 388 are in service with the United Arab Emirates.

By the way, France has recently announced about transfer of AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks to Ukraine.
