Ukraine received the British Sikorsky S-61 Sea King helicopter for search and rescue operations

The Armed Forces of Ukraine received the British Sikorsky S-61 Sea King helicopter.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov told about it in social networks. We are talking about one helicopter so far. In the near future the AFU will receive two more. Sikorsky S-61 Sea King is planned to be used for search and rescue operations.

Flashback

Sikorsky S-61 Sea King - a civilian version of the military helicopter SH-3 Sea King. It was developed by the American company Sikorsky Aircraft and was produced not only in the USA, but also in the UK under license. The British model is called the Westland Sea King. It differs from the American model by Rolls-Royce Gnome engines, anti-submarine warfare systems of British production and fully computerized flight control system. Most likely, it is these models that will be transferred to Ukraine.
