Media: Ukraine will not receive SAMP-T, Italy will transfer SAMs to Slovakia in exchange for Patriot for the AFU

The other day we wrote that Italy and France were finalizing the preparation of the SAMP/T air defense system for shipment to Ukraine. Now there is information that the AFU most likely will not receive the Italian-French complex.

Here's What We Know

According to Corriere della Sera, Italy will transfer the SAM system not to Ukraine, but to Slovakia. In exchange, Slovakia will transfer its Patriot surface-to-air missile system to Ukraine. It will be first sent to Germany. There will be a training program for the AFU.

Flashback

The Patriot is an American anti-aircraft missile system developed by Raytheon. It consists of an airborne interception missile and a high-performance radar system. The probability of hitting an airplane is 0.8-0.9, and a tactical missile is 0.6-0.8. The cost of one missile is about $3 million.

By the way, Ukraine will soon receive one Patriot battery from the US. Germany will also receive one battery of SAMs and the Netherlands will receive two launchers.
