When Micrsofot announced in 2013 that Xbox would be able to run some Windows applications, hardly anyone could have imagined that it would be possible to use it to run Nintendo GameCube and Wii games using the Dolphin Emulator beta, which is being developed on the universal Windows platform.

Here's What We Know

The software, which is an offshoot of the excellent SirMangler, works perfectly even on the younger version of the two modern Xbox consoles, as demonstrated by Modern Vintage Gamer in the video.

The author of the channel shows quite a smooth operation of GameCube games in 1440p resolution, even with the Eternal Darkness package: Sanity's Requiem package, despite the fact that it's all running from a USB drive.

Although the emulator technically also works on Xbox One and Xbox One X, MVG shows that things are clearly unstable here, so you're probably better off using the current generation for such entertainment.
