Spain ready to transfer 53 German Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine
Spain, following other European countries, is ready to transfer German Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

This was announced by Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles. According to Robles, Spain together with its NATO partners will send Leopard 2A4 tanks to the Ukrainian armed forces. The number of tanks has not yet been announced, but according to the RTVE TV channel, Ukraine may receive 54 tanks from Spain, but some of them will have to be re-equipped. The first deliveries are due to start in spring.

The Leopard 2 is a main battle tank developed by the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. The Leopard 2 is the successor to the successful development of the Leopard 1. The Leopard 2 has many modifications and is used by the armed forces of Austria, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Turkey. A total of 3,200 tanks of this model have been produced.
