Thales will provide Ukraine with two Ground Master 200 radars with a range of up to 250km, to be used in conjunction with SAMP/T
The French company Thales has been awarded a contract to produce modern radars for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Here's What We Know
We are talking about two Ground Master 200 radars. The contract for radar production was signed by Aleksey Reznikov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine on February 1 during his business trip to France. The new radar is planned to be used together with the SAMP/T surface-to-air missile system. In addition to radars, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will also receive a control centre, a radio communication system and an airborne target designation system.
Unfortunately, the cost of the contract and production deadlines for the radars have not yet been revealed. All that is known is that the money will be taken from an aid fund for Ukraine, which was set up by the French government in the early months of the full-scale invasion.
