Four iPhones and one Samsung - the best-selling smartphones at the end of 2022
Kantar has published its lists of the world's best-selling smartphones for the fourth quarter of calendar year 2022. Four out of five regions have Apple models in the lead.
Here's What We Know
In the US, the iPhone 14 Pro Max sold best from September to December 2022. The top five included the standard model, the Pro version, as well as the very old iPhone 11 and the iPhone 13 before last year.
In China, it was the iPhone 13 that was most often bought. Trying to keep up were the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. But in fifth place was suddenly the Huawei nova 10.
Residents of Australia favoured the next-generation Pro and Pro Max versions. The iPhone 11 and iPhone 14, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra were in the top five.
In Japan, the iPhone SE (2022) was suddenly the top seller. It sold better than the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13. The Google Pixel 6a made it into the top five, coming in fourth place.
Apple's smartphones led the way in four regions out of five. Only in Europe the best-selling smartphone was not the iPhone. The most popular was the Samsung Galaxy A13. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G was in third place in terms of sales. Along with them, iPhone 13, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 11 made the top 5.
