Germany launches Leopard 2 training programme for Ukrainian tankers

Ukrainian tank crews have begun a training course in the use of German Leopard 2 tanks in Germany.

The information was shared by a representative of the country's defence ministry, writes the Tagesschau edition. The training takes place at the proving ground of the tank troops school in Münster in Lower Saxony. By the way, Ukrainian crews are also trained there to use Marder infantry fighting vehicles. The training programme will last until the end of the first quarter. After that, the tanks will be handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

By the way, Germany plans to transfer 14 Leopard 2A6 tanks to the Ukrainian armed forces. In addition, Germans together with their partners will send to Ukraine about 200 Leopard 1 tanks.
