Tom Henderson: Sony’s developing wireless earbuds and new wireless headset for PlayStation 5

Insider Tom Henderson's sources say that Sony is developing wireless earphones and a new wireless headset that is fully compatible with the PlayStation 5. The release should take place at the end of fiscal year 2023 (April 2023 - March 2024).

Here's What We Know

The TWS earphones are called Project Nomad and have a battery life of about 5 hours, which is almost identical to AirPods, but slightly less than the Sony WF-1000XM3 (6 hours). The Nomad will come with a charging case that can be charged using a USB-C cable via PlayStation 5. At the same time, the headphones will be updated by connecting the case to the console.

Sony is also developing a new wireless headset for PlayStation 5 called Voyager, which is also planned to be released at the same time as Nomad.

Together with rumours about the release of a new version of the console with a removable disc drive, which is scheduled for September 2023, Tom Henderson believes that Sony is planning a major relaunch of the PlayStation 5.

However, prices for the models remain unknown.
