Half of the iPhone cases manufactured in India are faulty

Apple has been working hard recently to reduce its dependence on China. According to plans, the company plans to move up to 25% of all iPhone production to India by 2025, and 50% by 2027. However, it looks like there could be a problem with this.

Financial Times reporters have spoken to some former Apple employees who have said that the company has had problems with low productivity. The plant in question is that of Indian manufacturing giant Tata, which is located in Hosur. Other manufacturing plants were not mentioned in the report.

So, 50% of smartphone cases produced at the plant turned out to be defective - they were rejected by Apple's quality control service. According to sources, the situation should get better, but the process is likely to take a considerable amount of time and effort.

There have also been problems with logistics, tariffs and infrastructure in India.
