Tesla seems to have achieved what it wanted by reducing the cost of its electric cars. The manufacturer has managed to sell out all of the Model Y electric crossovers that were scheduled for delivery this quarter. New buyers will only be able to get their cars from April.

Here's What We Know

The Model Y's price dropped by an immediate $13,000 last month. The company has since raised the price by $1500, but despite that, the offer is still very attractive. Especially in light of the additional $7500 rebate from government subsidies. Customers who buy an American-made electric car in the US for up to $55,000 can get a tax deduction. The base version of the Model Y costs $10 less than that threshold.

Model 3 buyers can still get their cars this month or in March. At the same time, the cheapest vehicle in Tesla's range has not gone up in price since January, but instead has managed to drop in price by another $1,000. But this has not had much effect on demand. Perhaps this is due to a future update of the Model 3.

We would like to notice that residents of some states can save more than $7500. In particular, in California, buyers can qualify for an additional $2,000 subsidy.
