Sony PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset goes on sale for $550

Sony has started selling the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset. The new product hits the market a year after its official launch.

Here's What We Know

Sony PlayStation VR2 was announced at CES 2022. The headset connects to Sony's PlayStation 5 gaming consoles via a USB Type-C cable. There are four cameras for motion tracking, compared to two in the first generation device.

The novelty is equipped with an OLED panel with 4K resolution and HDR support. The viewing angle is 110 degrees. Each screen has a resolution of 2000 x 2040 dots. Gaze tracking technology allows for detailed drawing of objects in the player's field of view.

The Sony PlayStation VR2 is priced at $550 in the US and €600 in Europe. The company will offer the Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle for $600 and €650 respectively. A charging station for the controller will cost $50 / €50.
