Xiaomi has brought an augmented reality headset to Barcelona. It's called Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition and is a pair of glasses, but it's still at the prototype stage.

Here's What We Know

The device is equipped with two Full HD MicroOLED displays. The brightness is 1200 and the angular resolution is 58 pixels per degree. On the front, there are three cameras that are responsible for displaying the surroundings in addition to the virtual content.

The Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition is equipped with a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 processor. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless adapters are used to connect to smartphones. The lag time is between 3 and 50ms.

The user can dim the lenses when watching movies. The weight of the augmented reality glasses is 126g. This is achieved through the use of carbon fibre.

To control the headset, Xiaomi suggests using a remote control, a smartphone or a system of micro gestures that are read by the camera. Support for Qualcomm Snapdragon Spaces, OpenXR and Microsoft MRTK frameworks will allow developers to create apps for the glasses.
