The US Air Force may receive Australia's Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat drones

Boeing believes its MQ-28 Ghost Bat drones could be suitable for the United States Air Force. This was announced by the company's CEO Ted Colbert.

Here's What We Know

The MQ-28 Ghost Bat is being developed by Boeing Australia in conjunction with the Royal Australian Air Force. It is the first combat aircraft to be built in Australia in more than 50 years.

The Ghost Bat is designed primarily to work in conjunction with the Lockheed Matin F-35 Lightning II fighter. However, it will operate in conjunction with other aircraft, including the F/A-18 Super Hornet, E-7A AEW&C and KC-30A MRTT, or on its own.

The MQ-28 Ghost Bat will have a range of 3,700km. The drone will be able to take enemy fire, strike enemy positions, and perform reconnaissance, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

So far, Boeing has developed two UAVs. The MQ-28 Ghost made its maiden flight in 2021. Combat models will appear in 2024-2025.
