At the Tesla Investor Day event, the US company showed off more than just the Optimus robot breeder. Tesla also showed off a new prototype of the Cybertruck electric pickup truck.

Here's What We Know

Elon Musk's company has developed several prototypes of the vehicle, which have been caught on camera lenses from time to time, riding on California roads. Production of the Cybertruck will start in summer 2023.

The demonstrated prototype looks more complete than previous variants of the electric pickup. The sharp angles of the body are due to the use of cold-rolled stainless steel, which is difficult to work with. Next to the left side mirror is a huge wiper blade.

The Cybertruck still features a steeply sloped windscreen. According to the manufacturer, this solution improves the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle. The door windows have a frameless design.

The steering wheel has changed its shape slightly - it is no longer a steering wheel, but it is still not round. Touch-sensitive buttons and manipulators are used instead of levers to control additional functions.

The electric pick-up also has a panoramic glass roof. The Cybertruck probably won't be available with solar panels, as Tesla has dropped such options from its other vehicles due to low demand.

The Cybertruck has a huge centre console. Earlier, it was said that it could be transformed into extra passenger space. But it is not known if Tesla remains committed to this idea.
