8 out of 10 - Apple models dominate the list of best-selling smartphones in 2022
If you still have questions about which smartphones are the world's most popular, it's time to take them down. Analyst firm Counterpoint Research has published the top 10 best-selling smartphones of 2022.
Here's What We Know
There are eight American Apple smartphones in the top 10 at once. The most popular is the iPhone 13. Its share amounted to 5%. Moreover, it was the leader from January to August, but in September it moved down to the 2nd place, and from October to December it held the 4th position.
iPhone 14 with 1.4% ranked only 7th. That said, it was the best-selling smartphone in December. It would seem to make sense here, since it was only introduced in September. However, that didn't stop the iPhone 14 Pro Max from making it into the top 3 with a 1.7% share, becoming the leader in each of the autumn months.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max controls 2.6% of the market, while the previous generation Pro version with 1.6% is in 5th place. The iPhone 12, which was announced way back in 2020, sits 1.5% lower. The worst Apple smartphones in the top 10 were the iPhone 14 Pro (8th place) and iPhone SE 2022 (9th place). The share was 1.2% and 1.1% respectively.
Two models from Samsung made it into the top 10. As usual, these are budget devices. With a share of 1.6%, the Samsung Galaxy A13 ranked 4th, while the Samsung Galaxy A03, which accounted for 1.1% of sales, closed the top 10.
