Waiting for F-16s - Poland ready to give Ukraine all its MiG-29 fighters

The Ukrainian Armed Forces may receive a batch of Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters. Polish President Andrzej Duda said this in an interview with CNN.

Duda said that Ukraine can count on all the fighters that are in service with the Polish Air Force. We are talking about six MiG-29UB fighters and 22 MiG-29A fighters.

According to the president, Poland is ready to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with all the planes and expressed confidence that Ukraine could immediately start using them in the war against Russia. At the same time, Duda added that in the long term the Ukrainian army would switch to NATO standards and use the US fourth generation F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters.

Ukraine has been using the existing MiG-29s in service since 24 February 2022. Last year, Ukrainian and American specialists were able to integrate AGM-88 HARM missiles on the Soviet fighters. Now there is talk of pulling the same trick with AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles.
