From 0 to 100% in 7.5 minutes: Infinix unveils 260W wired and 110W wireless fast charging technology
A Chinese smartphone maker has announced two new charging technologies for its devices.
Here's What We Know
The first technology is called FastCharge. It is wired and boasts a charging capacity of 260W. This power pack is capable of charging a device with a 4400 mAh battery by 25% in 1 minute. From 0 to 100% the charging time will be just 7.5 minutes. The charging architecture uses an intelligent circuit with 4 charging pumps which independently determine the power requirements and distributes the load among the internal elements of the charger. The technology will also require a battery with an electrical capacity of 12C and a multi-electrode design. According to the manufacturer, the battery retains more than 90% of its capacity after 1,000 charging cycles.
The second technology is wireless (Wireless All-Round FastCharge). It has a capacity of 110 watts and is capable of charging a smartphone in just 16 minutes. It uses low-sensitivity, custom-made coils. They have fewer turns than traditional designs. According to Infinix, this overcomes architectural limitations and reduces the coil's internal resistance.
When We Can Expect It
The first smartphones to support the new charging technology will be the Infinix NOTE series. It is not yet known when the new products will be released.
