Here's What We Know

Telegram channel In Factum published a photo and video of a Ukrainian soldier on a PT-91 Twardy tank. Exactly when the photo and the video were taken is unknown. By the way, Ukraine is to receive 50-60 PT-91 Twardy tanks. Deliveries of the vehicles are to begin shortly.

Flashback

Let us remind you that PT-91 is the Polish main battle tank, based on the licensed version of the Soviet T-72M1. The first prototypes of the PT-91 were made in 1993. The base version of the tank was serially produced at the Bumar-Labenda factory between 1995 and 2002. The main feature of the PT-91 is the Twardy protection using ERAWA's own active armour. It has 394 blocks. They cover the front of the hull and turret. These blocks are placed with little or no clearance to each other. Tests have shown that ERAWA blocks increase the protection of a tank by 30-70%, depending on the type of projectile.
