Media: Ukrainian military trained in Italy on SAMP/T air defence systems

A group of Ukrainian military personnel has completed a training programme in the use of SAMP/T air defence systems.

The information was shared by two Italian media outlets at once. The training took place in Italy. Presumably, around 20 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces took part in the programme. Deliveries of SAMs are due to commence as early as this month. Incidentally, Italy is transferring SAMP/T air defence systems to Ukraine together with France. In addition to the surface-to-air missile system, the AFU will also receive 700 Aster-30 surface-to-air missiles and two Ground Master 200 radars with a range of up to 250 km.

SAMP/T &mdash is an anti-aircraft missile system for surface-to-air missiles. It was developed by the European consortium Eurosam (a joint venture of MBDA Italy, MBDA France and Thales). The system is designed to provide anti-aircraft protection for mechanized units as well as anti-aircraft protection of important targets from massive attacks. The SAM is capable of destroying air targets at altitudes up to 25 km and ranges of up to 100 km.
