The Dell Alienware AW2524H, the world's first 500Hz gaming monitor, goes on sale for $830

At CES 2023 in early January, Dell announced the world's first gaming monitor with 500Hz refresh rate. The new product is called the Alienware AW2524H. Almost three months after its premiere it has gone on sale.

Here's What We Know

The Dell Alienware AW2524H features a 24.5" Fast IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is Full HD. It has a response time of 0.5ms, a brightness of 400 nits and a contrast ratio of 1000 to 1.

The matrix covers 99% of the sRGB colour range and supports HDR. It also claims to be VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified.

The Alienware AW2524H supports refresh rates of up to 240Hz through HDMI and up to 500Hz through DisplayPort. The monitor is TÜV ComfortView Plus certified to reduce blue light emissions while maintaining picture quality.

Connection to computers is via HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4. Three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 down connectors (up to 5Gbps), two USB 3.2 uplinks and a Mini-Jack are also provided. The back panel is backlit.

Price & When We Can Expect It

The Dell Alienware AW2524H is already available for purchase. The manufacturer's recommended price for the world's first 500Hz gaming monitor is $830.
