Cruise's robotic taxis, owned by General Motors, have once again blocked traffic in San Francisco. This time it was caused by bad weather.

Here's What We Know

On March 22, Cruise cars once again congregated at an intersection. The storm caused a tree to fall onto the road which collapsed power lines. The fire brigade installed a guardrail at the scene, which brought confusion to the unmanned vehicles.

In the late afternoon, the robotic taxis were unable to cope with the obstruction. The vehicles continued to drive despite the guardrail tape. After a while, the taxis still stopped and blocked the road.

Cruise did not deny the malfunctioning of the unmanned vehicles. It dispatched its staff to the scene, who were able to evacuate the robotaxis. The company also noted that the vehicles were not carrying passengers at the time.
