Germany has handed over Leopard 2 tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The information was shared by the German publication Der Spiegel, citing its sources. The information is not yet displayed on the bundesregierung website, but it is likely to be updated in the near future. We are talking about 18 tanks in the modern Leopard 2A6 modification. By the way, apart from Germany, Ukraine has also received 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks from Poland.

The Leopard 2 is a main battle tank developed by the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. The Leopard 2 is the successor to the successful development of the Leopard 1 battle tank. The Leopard 2 has many modifications and is used by the armed forces of Austria, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Turkey. A total of 3,200 tanks of this model have been produced.
