The most popular GameCube and Wii emulator, Dolphin, is suddenly getting ready to launch on Steam.

Here's What We Know

This was announced by the emulator developer on its website, publishing a link to its Steam page, where it can be added to the wishlist. The developer also claims that after the release, the emulator will have a separate article with a detailed description of all processes and functions. Currently, the release is scheduled for the second quarter of this year, and the emulator will immediately include useful features that its competitors have, such as increased resolution and netplay.

Dolphin was launched around the same time as the Game Cube itself, in September 2003, but its development was temporarily suspended in December 2004 and then resumed in October 2005. On 13 May 2007, it became an open source project (meaning that anyone could use and modify the emulator). It was only in 2009 that the emulator started supporting the Wii. In 2016, version 5.0 of the emulator was released, and it has remained the current version ever since.
