Another safety issue with Tesla electric cars could lead to a recall of tens of thousands of Elon Musk vehicles. This time the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating two cases of faulty belts.

Here's What We Know

NHTSA launched an investigation a few days ago. This came after the regulator received two complaints from owners of Tesla Model X electric cars. The problem is the disengagement of the seatbelt.

NHTSA officials found during the investigation that both cars were handed over to buyers with poorly secured belts. The fault did not cause any injuries. It could affect up to 50,000 Tesla Model X vehicles produced in 2022 and 2023.
