Tesla wants to produce 4 million electric cars every year at a cost of $25,000
The Tesla Model 3 is Elon Musk's cheapest electric car. Including all discounts, it costs more than $30,000. However, the manufacturer wants to make cars for $25,000.
Here's What We Know
Tesla held an Investor Day at the beginning of March where they announced the construction of a new facility in Mexico to produce electric cars on a new platform. There will be $5 billion invested in the plant, but no information about the new car yet.
Tesla wants to create a $25,000 electric car and sell 4 million units annually. By comparison, total sales of all the company's vehicles will be at best 2 million units by the end of 2023.
If the goal is achieved, it will most likely happen in the second half of this decade. Also note that by the end of 2030, Tesla wants to reach 20 million electric vehicles per year.
