Huawei P60 and P0 Pro get 5G support despite US sanctions through special case
At the end of March, Huawei unveiled its flagship P60 smartphones. The range includes the Huawei P60, P60 Pro and P60 Art models. All are equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip without 5G, but this problem is being addressed.
Here's What We Know
Soyealink, one of Huawei's sub-brands, developed a case with an integrated 5G modem for the Huawei P50 Pro last year. Now the company has made an identical accessory compatible with the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro. The Art version has been left out.
The case connects to the smartphone via a USB-C connector. It measures 167.5 x 77.8 x 13.8 mm and weighs 53.5 g. The accessory is powered by the UDX 710 dual-core Cortex-A55 1.35GHz chip. The model supports FDD-LTE, TD-LTE and 5G.
The cost of the 5G case was $115. Whether the company plans to release such an accessory for the Huawei P60 Art is not yet specified.
