More than 400 iPhones worth $500,000 stolen from an Apple Store in Washington through a hole in the wall
An official Apple shop in Washington was robbed. The thieves were able to steal several hundred iPhones through a hole in the wall.
Here's What We Know
The intruders made a hole in the wall by entering the cafe, which is adjacent to the Apple Store. Through it, they gained access to the back room of the Cupertino-based company's shop. Apparently, the security system was not designed for such "manoeuvres" of the thieves.
As a result, the burglars were able to steal 436 smartphones of different versions of iPhones worth approximately $500,000. The manager of the cafe said he didn't even know his establishment shared a wall with an Apple Store. He said the attackers may have had a plan of the mall, as visually the proximity of the cafe and the shop is difficult to guess.
Police have already launched an investigation. It has obtained CCTV footage. The intruders didn't steal anything from the cafe, but it will cost about $1500 to replace the locks and make repairs.
