Ukrainian Armed Forces showcase M1126 Stryker ICV and M1132 Stryker ESV armoured vehicles with LWMR minesweepers
Members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to train American Stryker armoured personnel carriers. The video of the training was published by the deputy committee of the Verkhovna Rada on national security, defence and intelligence, Yuriy Mysyagin.
Here's What We Know
The video was recorded in a Ukrainian forest. The video shows two armoured vehicles. The M1132 Stryker ESV equipped with LWMR (Light Weight Mine Roller) mine trawls was the first to appear in the frame. The next is M1126 Stryker ICV.
The United States in mid-January 2023 officially announced the transfer to Ukraine of 90 Stryker armoured vehicles and 20 mine sweepers. When it comes to equipment, the $2.5bn package also included Avenger surface-to-air missile systems, MRAP-class vehicles, M2A2 Bradley and HMMWVs.
The M1126 Stryker ICV (pictured below) is the standard armoured personnel carrier model used for crew transport. It is equipped with an M2 Browning heavy machine gun or an Mk 19 grenade launcher.
The M1132 Stryker ESV (first picture) is an engineer vehicle. This model is used for clearing obstacles. In our case - for clearing mines. Armament is the same as that of the M1126 ICV.
