We recently wrote that Denmark was preparing to supply Leopard 1 tanks to the Armed Forces. In addition to them, Ukraine will also soon receive Caesar anti-tank gunboats.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the acting head of the Danish Defence Ministry Troels Lund Poulsen during a briefing with his Ukrainian counterpart. Deliveries of the self-propelled artillery units are due to start in May. Now the Ukrainian military is already undergoing a training programme in their use. In total, the AFU will receive 19 systems.

Flashback

Caesar is a French 155-mm SAU designed to destroy manpower, artillery batteries, pillboxes, as well as to provide passages in minefields and field barriers. The SAU has a maximum firing range of 42 km. The Caesar SAU is capable of firing 6 rounds per minute. It is operated by a crew of 4-5 people. Ukraine currently has 37 such units in service. Incidentally, the Danish version of the Caesar differs from the French model. It has a heavier weight, improved armor and increased ammunition from 18 to 36 rounds.
