Germany transfers Patriot air defence system with missile interceptors to Ukraine

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received a Patriot air defence system from Germany. This became known from an updated list of military assistance, which was published on the website of the German government.

Patriot surface-to-air missile systems and missile interceptors have been added to the list of military aid delivered to Ukraine. The Patriot transfer to the Ukrainian Armed Forces was officially announced in early January 2023.

The air defence system was developed by the US company Raytheon. In addition to missile interceptor launchers, the complex includes a radar system. The Patriot can destroy air threats with a 60-90% probability, depending on the type of target.
