Blogger paid $40,000 for first iPhone in original packaging to unbox it on camera (video)
Several very first iPhones have been auctioned recently that have never been used and were in their original packaging. As it turns out, one of the buyers was famous blogger Marques Brownlee, aka MKBHD.
Here's What We've Seen
Marques spent $40,000 on the sealed iPhone so he could personally unbox it and record a video for his subscribers.
The smartphone, which has been sitting in a box for almost 16 years, is in working order. MKBHD was also able to get confirmation that this is indeed the original packaging of the first iPhone. There was a "Lucky You" sticker on the box and Apple itself has confirmed that some retailers used it in 2007 during the sales of gadgets.
The blogger himself commented on his purchase, "This original sealed iPhone cost $40,000. I regret (almost) nothing".
