A programme to develop Britain's sovereign artificial intelligence will receive £100 million in funding, the project has been announced by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Minister for Science and Technology Michelle Donelan.
The government is investing £100m to set up a working group and start developing artificial intelligence. The experts, who will develop the sovereign AI, will report on the project's progress directly to the head of the British government. The chairman of the working group will be selected in the coming summer.
The UK government believes that the AI algorithm will stimulate the economy. The UK is also investing £900 million to build a supercomputer and conduct AI-related experiments.
