Tesla has found a way to boost the speed of its Model S electric cars in the Plaid modification. To do so, car owners will have to spend $6000.

Here's What We Know

Enthusiasts were able to accelerate the Model S Plaid to 348 km/h last year. However, the electric car's official top speed was previously 262km/h. Technically, the vehicle can go faster, and Tesla originally claimed that the three-engine version was capable of accelerating to 322km/h.

And now, Elon Musk has added a new set of wheels to the official website that allows the Model S Plaid to reach 322km/h. The wheels use Goodyear Supercar 3R tyres. The size is 285/35 (front axle) and 305/30 (rear axle).

The cost of the kit is $6000. Anyone interested can apply for the new wheels now. Bids will begin in June 2023. Tesla will likely unlock the software's ability to accelerate up to 322 km/h if customers confirm the purchase of the new wheels.
