UK sends all promised Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received all the Challenger 2 tanks promised by the UK. This was announced by UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace during a parliamentary meeting.

Here's What We Know

The UK defence chief did not specify how many tanks had been sent to Ukraine. He said that "all tanks have arrived in Ukraine". Ben Wallace also added that Ukraine had received spare parts and "many British armoured vehicles".

The United Kingdom officially announced the transfer of Challenger 2 tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in January 2023. Initially, it was about 14 combat vehicles. Two months later, the UK said that it would send twice as many tanks, i.e. 28 units.

At the end of April, it was revealed that the United Kingdom had sent thousands of munitions to Ukraine, including sub-caliber shells that have depleted uranium tips. The number is not specified.

To conclude, today, 11 May, Ben Wallace officially confirmed the transfer of Storm Shadow missiles, aka SCALP, to Ukraine. They will allow strikes at distances of up to 250 km (export version). The number is not specified.
