Emergency SOS function with satellite link for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro launched in two new countries

Starting today, the innovation will also be available to users in Australia and New Zealand. By the way, besides Australia and New Zealand, Emergency SOS is now also available in Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, UK and USA.

Apple announced Emergency SOS via satellite in autumn 2022 with its iPhone 14 range of smartphones. With this feature, users can send emergency messages in places where Wi-Fi and cellular service are not available. The messaging process takes place via a satellite link. The satellite link can also be used to broadcast the location in Find My. Emergency SOS is free for two years. After that you will have to pay for its activation.
