Google last week released an update for the last two generations of smartphones. The update proved to be problematic.

Here's What We Know

On 12 May, a new version of the software was released with a security patch for the last spring month. The firmware became available for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Updates to Google's smartphones often bring problems that are then fixed with the next updates. After installing the new software version, the aforementioned models started to lose charge faster and get hotter.

The Android System Intelligence service and the Google app are the problem. Disabling them sometimes helps to fix the situation. However, resetting to factory settings does not solve the problem.
