The day before, it was reported that the missile attack on Kyiv may have "damaged but not destroyed" the US MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missile system. According to the new reports, the system sustained minimal damage.

Here's What We Know

This was reported by CNN citing three US officials. Moreover, one of the officials described the damage to the MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missile system in Ukraine as "minor".

The US has already sent inspectors to Ukraine to assess the damage. According to the sources, the air defence system remains in working order. The radar station, which is part of the complex and is a key component, has not been damaged. U.S. officials believe the Patriot will not have to be removed from the battlefield for repairs.

In addition to the radar station, the system includes launchers, missile interceptors, a control room and generators. Which of the components was damaged is not specified at this time. It is worth noting, however, that Colonel Yuriy Ignat of the Ukrainian Air Force said that these components were at a distance from each other.
