While casual gamers are hesitant to swap QHD monitors for 4K UHD, BOE has introduced a 16K panel. The display was shown at Display Week 2023.

Here's What We Know

BOE has developed a 110" diagonal liquid crystal panel. The 16K format means the screen has 8,640 pixels vertically and 15,360 pixels horizontally, which is four times larger than 8K and 16 times larger than 4K. The image consists of 132 million pixels.

The display has a contrast ratio of 1200:1 and displays 99% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The brightness of the panel is 400 nits. According to journalists attending Display Week 2023, individual pixels cannot be seen even at close range.

It is not yet known when the company will start selling the new display. But it is worth noting that there are no (formally) graphics cards that support the format 16K. For example, the top model GeForce RTX 4090 costing from $1,600 displays video at maximum resolution of 8K.
