CrossOver app to run Windows games on Mac will get DirectX 12 support
It seems that there is good news for Mac users - CrossOver will receive DirectX 12 support this year, which will improve the experience of running Windows games on Apple laptops.
Here's What We Know
CrossOver is an application that allows users of macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS to run Windows applications on their devices by translating Windows APIs into Mac-compatible equivalents. Currently, CrossOver only supports DirectX 11 (a collection of graphics rendering APIs available for Windows and Xbox that promises better performance, efficiency, and optimal use of multiple CPU and GPU cores).
The first game to receive DirectX 12 support in CrossOver will be Diablo II Resurrected, but CodeWeavers plans to add more projects in the future. CodeWeavers maintains a compatibility database so you can see what might work well with the software.
The first beta version of CrossOver 23 is due out this summer, followed by an official launch later this year.
