Tesla voluntarily recalls 137 Model Y electric cars due to steering wheel failure

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has conducted an investigation that has resulted in a recall of more than a hundred Tela Model Y electric cars. The problem lies in the falling off steering wheels.

Here's What We Know

In early May 2023, a Tesla technician discovered the problem. About three weeks later, Elon Musk voluntarily applied for a recall of the electric cars to fix the problem.

Tesla has decided to recall 137 vehicles. The company believes the problem, which is a faulty steering bracket, affects about 10% of the electric cars ir 137 units to be recalled.

Tesla has confirmed receiving at least four complaints from customers over the steering wheel's collapse. However, the company notes that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fatalities triggered by the malfunction.
