In 2022, the Russian army made extensive use of Iranian-made drones. In particular, the Mohajer-6. The first such drone was captured last autumn.

Here's What We Know

The Navy managed to shoot down a drone over the Black Sea in September 2022. The navigator of a small armoured gunboat was a direct participant in the events.

After being hit, the Mohajer-6 began to descend into the water using a parachute system. When Ukrainian Navy personnel found the drone, they found a guided aerial bomb attached to a pylon.

Naturally, the captured drone was handed over to specialists for examination. As it turned out, it was equipped with a Rotax Aircraft Engines engine, a camera with a multispectral sensor and a laser rangefinder. A Ghaem-5 bomb has been attached to the pylon, the warhead weighing 8.5 kg.

The Mohajer-6 can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h and has a range of 200 km. The drone itself weighs about 570 kg and has a maximum payload of 100 km. In flight, it can climb to an altitude of more than 5 km.
