Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is now officially available on Chromebooks, as announced by Google on Wednesday, 7 June. The official release of Minecraft on Chromebooks makes the game even more accessible, and thanks to the cross-play feature, you can play with friends on other platforms.

You can buy the game from the Play Store directly on your Chromebook for $19.99, or if you have the standard version of Minecraft for Android, you can upgrade to the ChromeOS version for $13. According to Google, Minecraft on Chromebook will work on all Chromebooks released "in the last three years," and you can check out the minimum and recommended system requirements on the Minecraft support site.

Minecraft for Chromebook includes the new Trails and Tales update, which was also released on Wednesday. This update adds many new elements to the game, including a cherry grove biome and the ability to ride a camel.
