Belgium to give Ukraine new batch of US M113 armoured personnel carriers
The Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive a new batch of American M113 armoured personnel carriers in the foreseeable future. This was reported by RTBF, citing a statement by the Belgian Defence Minister.
Here's What We Know
The Council of Ministers has approved another military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is already the 15th. The package includes an unknown number of M113 armoured personnel carriers, which were decommissioned more than 10 years ago and have remained in storage.
The armoured vehicles will be repaired by Belgian companies before being shipped to Ukraine. A total of several hundred American armoured personnel carriers in different modifications are in service with the Belgian Defence Forces.
It should be noted that earlier this year, armoured vehicles from Belgium have already arrived in Ukraine. Thus, Great Britain transferred 46 M113A1-B armoured personnel carriers, which were purchased from the Belgian company OIP Land Systems.
