ASUS has released an update that has degraded the performance of the ROG Ally handheld gaming console
ASUS has released software number 319 for the ROG Ally gaming console. As it turns out, the firmware has reduced the performance of the device.
Here's What We Know
Even before the release, ASUS released an update that greatly improved the performance of the gaming console. A few days after the launch, the company decided to make an adjustment to the increase in BIOS 319. But it turned out to be unintentional.
The description of the update says that "the new software version boosts performance in a reduced power consumption mode of up to 9W". However, after running tests, it became clear that the performance of the set-top box in the two CPU modes (15W and 25W) actually dropped after the update.
The company confirmed that the BIOS 319 firmware proved to be problematic, although it did fix some bugs. The new software version is now not available for installation. For those users who have installed the update, there is an option to revert to the previous version using the ASUS EZ Flash utility. A timeframe for fixing the problem is not specified.
