iFixit experts take apart the new Apple Mac Pro: it still grates cheese badly
After the 15-inch MacBook Air laptop, iFixit experts got their hands on the new Mac Pro, which was unveiled at WWDC 2023 earlier this month.
Here's What's New About It
So, hiding inside is a huge but noticeably emptied motherboard, as well as the equally impressive size of the M2 Ultra platform. The space where the RAM modules used to be located is now used for the SSD. However, it's not possible to add additional RAM or install graphics cards - Apple uses that space for a second SSD if the customer has ordered the appropriate version.
Overall, the design of the computer hasn't changed in any way. The Mac Pro still uses a chassis with a lot of holes, which is still compared to a grater. Therefore, an iFixit representative did not miss the opportunity to try to grate cheese on it. This was tried a few years ago, when Apple redesigned the Mac Pro. Time has passed, the model has been updated, and the result is still the same: The PC is uncomfortable for grating cheese. And the iFixit specialist chose several types of cheese, including gouda, mozzarella and parmesan. Parmesan can still be grated on a $7,000 PC, but not so much with the other cheeses.
