Ukraine buys AMPS missile defence system from Hensoldt, to be installed on helicopters

Ukraine has signed a contract with defence company Hensoldt to supply AMPS (Airborne Missile Protection System) missile detection and countermeasures systems. They will be installed on helicopters.

Here's What We Know

The information appeared on the manufacturer's official website. Unfortunately, Hensoldt did not disclose any details of the contract. All we know is that it includes 16 AMPS kits. The amount of the deal is "several million".

Flashback

AMPS (Airborne Missile Protection System) is an airborne missile defence system for aircraft. A set of sensors can alert the crew that an aircraft is scanning radar. Moreover, the system is able to detect a missile launch and determine its specifications (range, speed, etc.).
