Hensoldt to supply Ukraine with additional TRML-4D radars for the IRIS-T SLM air defence system
At the end of May, Germany attached TRML-4D radars to Ukraine. Now there is information that the AFU will receive an additional batch.
Here's What We Know
The manufacturer Hensoldt has revealed this. We are talking about 4 radars for the IRIS-T SLM medium-range surface-to-air missile system, which is in service with the AFU. The radar station operates in C-band and is equipped with an active phased antenna array with electronic scanning, which is based on GaN (gallium nitride) solid-state transmitters. The TRML-4D can track UAVs, aircraft, helicopters and various types of missiles, including ballistic missiles. The radar is capable of tracking up to 1,500 targets simultaneously at ranges of up to 250 km.
When We Can Expect It
According to Hensoldt, the contract is planned to be implemented in 2024. First deliveries will start in January.
