Not just NASAMS SAMs: Lithuania will also hand over an additional batch of M113 armoured personnel carriers to Ukraine

A couple of hours ago, we wrote that Lithuania would send Ukraine two launchers of NASAMS SAMs. As it turned out, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive additional weapons.

Here's What We Know

It is about 10 tracked armoured personnel carriers M113 and ammunition. This was announced by Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas. Earlier Ukraine received 62 such armoured personnel carriers from Lithuania. By the way, the total sum of the Lithuanian military aid has already exceeded 500 000 000 euro.

Flashback

The M113 is a tracked armoured personnel carrier which is in service with the mechanised forces of the US army and other armies of the world. It was developed in 1957-1959 by the British company BAE Systems. In all, there are about 80,000 such vehicles in the world. Since the start of the full-scale invasion by Russia on 24 February 2022, Ukraine has received over 1,000 M113s in various modifications from its partners.
