GAC unveils GOVE: a flying capsule with vertical take-off that can transform into an electric vehicle
Chinese company GAC (Guangzhou Automobile Group) has unveiled an unusual vehicle.
Here's What We Know
It's called GOVE (GAC's on-the-go vertical-flight electric vehicle). The vehicle is a single-seat drone with a vertical takeoff. It has six rotors and an autopilot.
The main feature is a special platform with four wheels. It allows the GOVE to turn into an electric vehicle. The wheeled chassis of the GOVE can be controlled remotely. In other words, the platform is able to move autonomously to a charging station while the owner is in the air.
Instead of selling the entire vehicle as a single unit, GAC offers a shared-use model. That is, multiple drivers will be able to use the chassis as needed.
Although GAC has demonstrated the actual prototype of the GOVE, the company has not yet disclosed detailed specifications of the vehicle. It is also unknown when the GOVE will be able to enter the market. Most likely, due to legal requirements do not wait for the release of a serial version of the car in the near future.
